My artistic journey began in secondary school when my art teacher recognised my talent and entrusted me with the task of painting a mural of John Lennon on the school walls. This early experience ignited my love for visual expression and set me on a path towards a career in the arts.
After completing my secondary education, I aimed for further artistic development and applied to prestigious art colleges in Dublin, such as the National College of Art and Design and the Dun Laoghaire College of Art. I was unsuccessful and I started work in Administration for a large Record Company. I remained undeterred. Instead, I continued honing my design skills through evening classes, eventually delving into desktop publishing, where I discovered the power of the Adobe Creative Suite.
While on the quest for full-time employment as a Graphic Designer, I decided to channel my creativity into entrepreneurship. I successfully ran a small business specialising in crafting Bespoke Caricature Wedding Invitations, showcasing my ability to merge artistry with commercial appeal. The uniqueness of my creations even earned me a mention on the Irish Breakfast TV Show "Ireland AM" in 2010, when I submitted a caricature of the show's presenters.
In 2016, I transitioned into a fulfilling role as a Full-time Graphic Designer for an online Personalisation Gift Company. This experience allowed me to apply my skills in a professional setting and further broaden my expertise. Now, I am seeking new opportunities to expand my horizons within different design fields and collaborate with like-minded individuals who share my passion and goals.
Proficient in the latest versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, and Acrobat, I also possess exceptional freehand skills. Additionally, I ventured into web design, completing a course with FAS in 2010, showcasing my versatility across various design platforms.
I am eager to bring my unique blend of creativity, technical skills, and dedication to a new professional setting, contributing to exciting projects and collaborating with fellow designers who share my enthusiasm for the art of design.
