I was tasked with creating an Independence day Greeting Card for the US market.
I found a high quality photo on a license free website. The Photo was in Landscape format and I needed to convert it to Portrait for the Greeting Card.
I created a portrait template in Adobe Photoshop, imported the photo and extended the sky by selecting the sky area only and extending upwards using the move tool.
To extend the foreground I imported a similar photo and using Photoshop tools I blended the foreground from the Moon Buggy photo onto the Man on the Moon photo.
I selected the flag, selected inverse and converted everything apart from the flag to black and white.
I exported the image as a high res JPEG.
In Adobe Illustrator I found a suitable Google Font, in this case Bowlby One regular and created the text. I outlined the text, created the star in the “O” and saved it as an EPS.
I imported both the high res JPEG and the text EPS to In Design and exported it as a high res PDF.
